Learning Outcomes

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who undertake specialist resilience and risk management roles, both internally and externally to an organisation. These roles include cross-industry tasks and responsibilities relating to corporate governance and risk management, business continuity, crisis management, leadership, innovation, and high reliability teams.

Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing tasks, apply solutions to a range of often complex and ambiguous problems, and research, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply their initiative to plan and respond, to lead teams, to manage change, to coordinate and evaluate courses, to challenge and facilitate risk-based conversations, and to establish and maintain high reliability teams.

In addition, this program is intended to provide participants with the following skills, doing so at a level of depth and conceptual integration that existing courses do not presently achieve:

Ability to identify and manage crisis and disruption events

Ability to proactively identify, explore and realise potential opportunities

An in-depth understanding of the psychological aspects and issues involved in the management of potential risk exposures

Ability to establish high-performance, high-reliability and organisational resilience

Understanding of the psychological issues pertaining to effective decision making, as well as the ability to better manage the same

Ability to review and maintain high-performance, high-reliability and organisational resilience

Ability to understand and apply effective leadership and influencing skills

Enhanced risk-based decision-making skills
